Lumeta provides large enterprises and government agencies with network assurance solutions that allow them to balance the constant forces of network change, with risk management and compliance imperatives. By measuring the impact of change on risk and availability, Lumeta helps clients successfully keep pace with the demands of business and IT challenges such as:
- New Application Deployments
- Vulnerability Management and Incident Response Programs
- M&A and Network Consolidation
- Security Policy Compliance and Audit Programs
- Current and Planned OS and Infrastructure Updates
IPsonar®, Lumeta's flagship product, creates a foundation for network assurance by providing global network visibility and measuring risk from a network perspective. IPsonar maps every asset on a network -- including assets not currently under management -- to visually analyze the connectivity between assets and networks, uncovering risk patterns and policy weaknesses.
Clients include more than a dozen US Federal Government Agencies - such as many US Intelligence Agencies, Office of the President, FAA, VA, Dept. of Energy, and Dept. of Education - as well as leading commercial organizations such as 15 of the 25 largest banks, five of the 10 largest pharmaceutical companies, and three of the 5 largest energy companies.
Lumeta's solutions complement existing network management and security technologies, allowing IT organizations to:
- Find all known and previously unknown network address space, network and security devices, and connectivity. Visualize results using intuitive maps and reports that provide unique insight into risk and allow organizations to bring vulnerable assets under control quickly.
- Secure the network by addressing policy weaknesses, such as poorly configured security devices or unauthorized connectivity across network boundaries. Prioritize vulnerability management processes by pinpointing areas of network risk for vulnerability scanning and remediation.
- Measure risk from a global network perspective using a simple executive scorecard that benchmarks network risk objectively. Use results to establish a baseline and compare deviations from the norm over time, gauging the impact of network change on security and compliance. Manage risks to keep within pre-determined thresholds.
- Comply with established network and security policies -- as well as regulatory mandates -- by validating that "controls" are functioning properly. Establish network risk metrics that can be used to verify compliance posture.
Lumeta's History: A Legacy of Innovation
In 1998, Bell Labs scientists developed the first generation of Lumeta's IPsonar solution. Their goal was to determine the boundaries and contents of the Internet itself - a successful effort now known as the Internet Mapping Project. The results are celebrated in the Guinness Book of World Records because of their massive scale.
Lumeta spun off from Bell Labs in 2000 to help corporate and government enterprises achieve global network visibility. Our legacy of innovation continues today. Lumeta solutions have been awarded repeatedly for advances to network assurance, as have members of our executive team - each of whom is a veteran of the network management and security space. |
